Katie Fennelly | Senior Product Designer, Intuit Quickbooks

“I worked with Jessica on the Product Design team at Quantum Workplace. Jess is a well-rounded designer that can own the end-to-end design process. She is smart, driven, and user-focused.

Jess excels at using a variety of research and design thinking methods to shape product vision. Her experience in roles ranging from Sales to QA has made her an incredible asset to have in any stakeholder conversation. She’s an excellent communicator and knows how to blend product vision, user needs, and business requirements to deliver impactful products. While we worked together, Jess worked to push the visual design and polish of the product forward. She contributed to the design system, updating components to meet modern visual standards, and match user expectations. Jess stays apprised of design trends but knows how to make design decisions that are long-lasting and don’t fall prey to fads.

I knew I could always trust her to provide clear, considered, and constructive critique on designs of any fidelity. Jess has a knack for tailoring feedback to match the phase of the project and knows how to improve designs to support users. Jessica is a valued, trusted teammate. I’d love the opportunity to work with her again.”

Miranda Bouck | Lead Product Designer, Instacart Design System

“I worked with Jessica at Hudl while she was a QA Engineer and also throughout her design apprenticeship. She has some of the most precise attention to detail for product usability and design I have seen from someone in this role. She is always, always, thinking about customer uses-cases and product presentation before any deploy happens. She is involved in the design process and provides well articulated and useful feedback. Nothing gets past her that would deploy without meeting her personal standard of excellence.

She has stepped in for other designers to lead user research and usability studies without fear. She crafts non-leading and beefy interview questions to get the answers she seeks (regardless of whether or not it’s what she wanted to hear). I believe her skill as a QA and history in product gives her an extra eye for detail in always thinking of lost, weird, or just plain forgotten use cases and scenarios. In addition to this skill, I have never seen more thorough and well thought out test plans for the features she releases. She is adamant and passionate about deploying a bug-free product as well as a “great” product that is something our customers (and future customers) will want, find usable, and dare I say delightful.

During her apprenticeship she was very eager to learn. She often sought feedback and critique before ever being asked to. She iterated and tested all on her own accord. She took it upon herself to build her skills by reading and studying design in a way I haven’t seen since I first got into design.”

Allie Guiney | Senior Content Designer, Instacart

“I'm forever grateful to Jessica for serving as my unofficial editor in the seven years we worked together at Hudl. Her appreciation and talent for writing made her a constant source of gut checks for everything from punctuation to semantics. Her decisions were always clearly communicated with a thorough explanation, and her attention to detail was nothing if not contagious. She never took the copy at face value, but always considered its role in the bigger picture, asking strategic questions to ensure each word made an impact—not just on the reader, but also the brand. I'm amazed at her endless drive to learn and do more, whether by way of a new role or additional responsibilities, and I have total faith that her skills and experience will do wonders for the organizations wise enough to welcome her.”
